Why choose Conflict Management Plus Ltd?
There are mediation and conflict management ‘experts’ under every bush, these days. It’s difficult to see the wood for the trees sometimes. Some key differentials to check out before selecting a provider, whether training or dispute resolution work, are:
Experience – Any one can, and many do, claim to be 'the leading provider' or 'national experts'. But how long has this provider been working in this specific area? Do they have a significant and diverse track record? Are their clients willing to speak up for them? What have they developed for themselves rather than copied from others?
Ability to be creative and purposeful – can they evidence a personalised approach to client work or it everything 'off the peg'? Do they listen toyou before offering solutions? Do they have ongoing relationships with clients and add value at every stage of their interactions? Have they won open national tenders, or do they often get work through the ‘old boys’ network?
Focus – are they generalists who have decided they can do "mediation" too? Do they understand the whole world of conflict at work or is mediation an add on to other skill-sets?
Practitioner base – do their people have significant experience as practitioners? Do they have a track record in this area? Is their team a line up of white middle class males, or do they represent the diversity of today's workplace. How well are they trained and supervised?
Lawyers versus non lawyers – a legal background may be helpful in some contractual disputes or between corporations, but for workplace mediation a legal background can be a positive hindrance. Pick the right kind of mediator for your situation.
Understanding of and way of working with issues of diversity – do they have a clear statement of this? How do they ensure their practitioners and trainers understand diversity issues and work with them appropriately?
Standards, processes and values – what accreditations do they hold? Do they have a clear model of working, and statement of values?
Naturally, we are confident of, and secure in, our claim that we score highly in each of these areas. See our client list and quotes from clients to verify our credibility in making this claim – or contact us for a discussion. |
