The Group Mediation Service
Sometimes, a conflict involves several people or a whole team. It is important to overcome the urge to manage a serious situation with a quick fix. The failure to rebuild a team may produce greater organisational problems in the longer term, such as re-deployment, broader damage to the client, staff exodus, disciplinary procedures and performance management issues.
Our facilitators provide a safe, confidential, constructive process to help address the problems facing teams. In addressing the scale of the issues we take an incremental approach, in order to overcome the hurdles to forward movement which are doubtless present.
Our Group mediation approach creates an environment that allows effective working via:
- More appropriate, effective ways of communicating and challenging behaviour
- Creation of a culture of openness and constructive feedback
- Rebuilt trust
- Agree boundaries on interactions, and processes
- Team dynamics reset and consolidated
- Clarification of expectations for team work
- Ways of making work-related decisions constructively and consensually
- Agreement on professional roles and functions with expectations and requirements of each other clarified (i.e. people's duties and responsibilities to each other and the organisation)
