Dispute Resolution Services

The Mediation Service

All our mediators have a minimum of 3 years' experience of mediating workplace disputes and have the gravitas and rapport skills to mediate at all levels within an organisation. They all hold national qualifications in mediation and are committed to CPD.

We aim to get the parties together and carry out face to face mediations - in our view this is the most effective way of getting parties to work through their differences. Models of mediation which work with the parties separately are suited to commercial mediation but not to the workplace where relationships are all-important. We offer mediation on a contract basis, or on a case by case basis.

Our model for mediating in the workplace has the highest impact on resolving workplace disputes. Interactive Mediation© supports the parties to identify professional and personal issues which have contributed to negative conflict, and to find creative opportunities for moving on from the past in order to work more constructively together. We work hard to rebuild effective working relationships, reopen channels of communication, and rebuild trust wherever possible.

Interactive Mediation© can be used to resolve disputes at all levels: peer, manager/subordinate, or team. It enables individuals and teams to improve their relationship and identify improvements surrounding the practicalities of working together.

Interactive Mediation© is a viable way to tackle disputes as it brings people together to talk about the situation and fosters a joint problem-solving attitude, both of which are essential if working relationships are to be maintained or improved. The key is that our mediators provide a safe and confidential environment, enabling people to communicate freely.

Our mediation service has enabled over 2000 individuals to speak directly with people with whom they were in conflict; we have helped them find a way of expressing their interests and needs, and supported them in moving away from attack and counter attack.

Over 90 per cent of those people have walked away with clear mutually acceptable agreements, and a better understanding of each other.

Quotes from parties involved in our mediations given on our feedback forms:

"The mediation allowed me to put things in perspective and 'bury the demons'."

"I found the experience very worthwhile. It has helped with my own ablity to self-reflect and reduce my personal 'guilt' complex. Thank-you!"
