The Neutral Assessment Service
Neutral assessment is a relatively informal way of evaluating workplace difficulties quickly, and facilitating forward movement.
We have developed a unique model - RARE © - specifically for use in the workplace.
Our neutral assessors have experience in conflict situations, involving for example allegations of inappropriate behaviour, mismanagement, bullying, harassment and team dysfunction and other difficult areas. They are also highly experienced mediators and coaches, therefore holding a unique mix of skill and experience.
The benefits of the Neutral Assessment process
People often feel unable to express their feelings and fears within their own department or work area, but are prepared to open up to a skilled independent listener.
For the people who participate the private time and space given to them often frees them up to think more clearly and neutrally about their situation, and can lead to them developing more effective strategies for resolving the situation informally. The process is non-blaming and a degree of confidentiality is offered so that people feel more comfortable about participating and more able to be honest and open.
For senior and HR managers who are responsible for managing these situations, neutral assessment can generate essential information about key issues, strength of feeling and ways forward. It provides information and recommendations on which to base decisions and how to prevent something similar happening in the future. It has the benefit of being structured, independent and thorough.
